Merus is expanding and we are looking for an exceptional project manager to join us and build great teams!
You will be working in our research department, helping to discover and develop bispecific antibody therapeutics. The Project Manager Research is responsible for managing a variety of projects and operational tasks. You work closely with the scientists, technicians and directors in the project team, and you will interact with legal, finance, and collaborating parties to make the projects run smoothly.

The role:

As a Project Manager in our Research department, you will be central to orchestrating our project activities, ensuring efficient execution across the board. Your efforts will be crucial to help the team drive our projects forward. You'll act as a facilitator, translating project strategies into actionable plans and collaborating closely with various functions to achieve these goals. Your role will also involve support for both internal team operations and external collaborations, ensuring effective communication and meticulous organization throughout the project lifecycle. Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Organizing and facilitating project team meetings
  • Developing detailed project timelines and resource requirements, and supporting budget development
  • Monitoring internal and external project deliverables to drive execution of plans
  • Acting as a facilitator to define project strategy, and working closely with all relevant functions to translate the project strategy into robust project plans and planning
  • Supporting the research team by organizing shipments and facilitating legal review
  • Developing detailed Gantt charts, identifying and addressing resource or process bottlenecks, and tracking progress against milestones
  • Supporting external collaborations by organizing meetings, writing minutes, and tracking action items both internally and externally
  • Contributing to the creation of presentations to senior management and collaborators, as appropriate

Your Profile:

We are seeking a candidate who thrives in a collaborative, international setting and brings strong organizational skills to our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with a can-do attitude, focused on delivering results and continually improving processes. You should excel in building relationships and be adept at communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Certification in project management, such as PMP, or the willingness to obtain it, will be highly regarded as you drive our projects to success. Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant biomedical field (PhD is a plus), and at least 3 years of experience with standard project management processes (e.g. PMI) specifically in the biotech or pharma industry
  • You are a certified PMP project manager or are willing to obtain your PMP certification
  • Experience using project management information systems including Microsoft Project
  • Able to build strong working relationships and enjoy working in an international, multidisciplinary team
  • You are a team player with a can-do attitude focused on results
  • You are known for your organizational skills and drive to continuously improve your work
  • You communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing
