Operations Support Engineer - Commercia Vehicle

We are looking for a to be part of our Aftersales department, based in Hounslow BYD London Office, and will be required to travel.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Provide technical support to internal stakeholders, including fleet managers, drivers, and technicians, regarding commercial vehicle systems and technologies.
• Analyse and troubleshoot technical problems related to commercial vehicles, including diagnostics, data analysis, and identifying root causes.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., mechanics, parts department) and external vendors to diagnose, resolve, and prevent vehicle issues.
• Maintain and update technical documentation specific to commercial vehicle systems and procedures.
• Assist with the implementation and configuration of new technologies and software related to commercial vehicles (e.g., telematics systems, diagnostics tools).
• Monitor and analyse vehicle performance data to identify potential problems and areas for improvement.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs for the commercial vehicle fleet.
• Stay up to date on advancements in commercial vehicle technology and industry best practices.
• Document all activities and maintain accurate records.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably within the commercial vehicle industry.
• Strong understanding of commercial vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair of commercial vehicles a plus.
• Familiarity with telematics systems and diagnostic tools used in commercial vehicles preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license.
• Has right-to-work in the UK.
