Appical is looking for a Medior Fullstack Developer to join our Product & Development team

Who are we?

Appical is a leading SaaS onboarding platform which optimizes employee experiences, simplifies workflow creation and onboarding journey planning. As part of the globally recognized cloud software company Visma, we're expanding our development team to meet growing customer expectations. We're currently seeking a Medior Fullstack Developer.

Technology stack

Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, CI/CD, AWS, Serverless Microservices, Github, SonarQube

Key Job Responsibilities 🧐

• Design and develop server-side logic and APIs to support front-end functionality and data integration.

• Implement database structures and optimize queries for efficient data retrieval and storage.

• Translate design mockups and wireframes into well-structured and responsive front-end code.

• Implement front-end functionality and interactivity using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks or libraries.

• Collaborate with other developers to ensure seamless integration between the back-end and front-end components.

• Lead code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues in the back- and front-end systems to provide timely resolutions.

• Work closely with quality assurance professionals to develop and execute test cases and assist in resolving identified issues.

• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability through code optimizations and infrastructure improvements.

• Document technical specifications and system architecture for reference and knowledge sharing.

  Experience and technology requirements

  NB: Regardless of the long list of expectations mentioned below you do not need to be an expert in all areas. Equally important as all tech skills is how you fit the group as a personality.

  We are looking for a person with at least 3+ years of development experience using Ruby on Rails and TypeScript and/or JavaScript and the following:

  • Good knowledge of Ruby on Rails and its ecosystem.

  • Good knowledge of React and its ecosystem.

  • Strong understanding of database concepts, SQL, and experience with database management systems.

  • Proficiency in front-end development languages and frameworks, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).

  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for back-end development issues.

  • A permit to live and work in the EU.

    Will be considered as an advantage:

    • Knowledge of AWS Cloud products.

    • Experience with Test-Driven-Development.

    • Experience with Agile software development.

    • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields.

      Personal skills:

      • Excellent English communication abilities (B2+ level) - to work effectively in the team.

      • A curious and self-driven person who loves to experiment and find solutions to challenging problems, especially in relatively new and unknown tech such as AI.

      • Excellent collaboration abilities to brainstorm about complex implementation considerations.

      • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
