Backend Developer

Being a Backend engineer for our My Lifestyle app means that you help our customers to live a healthier life, exercise more, sleep better or relax more often. We are also integrating our My Lifestyle theme in our AH app. This app is used by thousands of people daily. Which makes this an exciting project to work on!

About the job

As a passionate Backender you will work on features that offer our customers insight and coaching in regards to a healthy lifestyle; It is not only about nutrition but also about exercise, sleep and relaxation. You participate in standups and refinements, develop code, write tests and continuously integrate/deploy the solutions. Beyond your own team, you contribute to the AH Tech community via Guilds, inner source initiatives, and more. Furthermore, you actively participate in developing a feature-rich product for our Lifestyle app which is currently being integrated with our AH app.

Everything we build in the app is scalable, using Azure and Microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.

We work in a multi-disciplinarian team; with dedicated QA, 2 Backend developers, 3 frontend developers (flutter) a UX designer and a Product Owner.

Recipe for maximum impact:

At AH Technology you'll be working for one of the biggest food retailers in the Netherlands. To be successful as our new backend engineer you bring:

A Technology/IT Engineering bachelor or master's degree, or equivalent 3/5 years of work experience;

You know your technology stack: you are experienced in Kotlin and preferably MongoDB, GraphQL, Spring boot.

Experience in Cloud (Azure preferred, but we will get you up to speed if you have AWS/Google experience);

Know your way around with CI/CD, including test automation integrations and release engineering automation (fyi, we use Azure Devops and Github Actions)

Experience with the DevOps way of work. You build it, you run it!

Outstanding communication in English.

An annual salary up to 78K including holiday allowance and a flexible bonus. Depending on your experience.

Possibility to work 32-40 hours a week.

Working hybrid where we go to the office once or twice a week. We are next to Zaandam's train station!
