Your job

As a Technical Intern, you will immerse yourself in the usage, analysis, and testing of AI capabilities. Several ongoing initiatives aim to increase GenAI adoption in the IT organization. In particular, the focus is on finding use cases for GenAI where its strengths are used to analyse design documents, architectural documents, and generate code to improve efficiency, compliance, and security. By collaborating with various teams to understand their domain, you will prototype proof-of-concept GenAI solutions using the latest AI research.

• Preprocess complex data to create context for GenAI by creating abstracts from technical documentation
• Work on creative utilization of AI for various use cases, such as generating reports for IT governance, cross-referencing documents, or scanning codebases
• Create and test prompts for internal GenAI models using state-of-the-art prompt engineering techniques
• Use GitHub Copilot to create skills, custom instructions, and agentic solutions for AI-assisted developer tools
• Have real impact on enterprise and developer practices through automation
• Show your independence by leading projects from design to execution, including evaluation, proof-of-concepts, and stakeholder management

Your working environment

Our team is the X-Domain Design & Engineering team, which assists in several cross-domain initiatives. These are typically more complex, bank-wide IT changes and programs that require the involvement of several departments within ABN AMRO. One of those initiatives involves gaining clear insight into the IT debt of several legacy IT applications, and you will assist with this work.

The team is small, dynamic, and varied in terms of roles, and consists of knowledgeable and experienced members. You will receive support with your ambitions through coaching and guidance with questions or interests you may have. The team is well connected throughout the organization, making this position well suited if you want to gain a better understanding of a large organization like ABN AMRO.

Your profile

Candidates for the internship need to fulfil the following requirements:

• Available for 6–7 months, starting June 1st
• Fluency in English or Dutch required
