Vanderlande is looking for a Tax Manager CIT / WHT to convert a complex organisational structure into pragmatic tax guidance for the business and contribute to profitable growth through expertise in direct tax and withholding taxes.

Your Department

The Tax department manages the tax consequences of the organization and its operations. This comprises management of the tax risks and costs of the organization and securing its tax reputation. The department consists of a team of dedicated tax professionals that provide clear, timely, relevant and business focused advice, guidelines, processes and reports across all aspects of taxation.

Your Position

As Tax Manager CIT / WHT you are a skilled sparring partner of the finance team and report to the Tax Director. Your main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Proactive advisory to new Business Projects
  • Support with Global CIT Compliance with key focus on more complex countries including the Netherlands.
  • Lead Innovation Box Project
  • Seek active solutions to Vanderlande’s exposure to double taxation (WHT, pe)
  • Manage various tax aspects of large international projects;
  • Contribute to the development of various projects by developing suggestions, ideas considering our transfer pricing model and tax regulatory and policy environments
  • Work closely with your TP and Tax accounting colleagues to ensure proper tax reporting including active monitoring impact on ETR, Deferred Tax Positions, Tax Credits etc
  • Provide operational tax support and training to our Financial Shared Service Center;
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the tax control framework;
  • Collate data, conduct analyses and prepare deliverables, communicating with contributors and stakeholders on the relevant findings that can impact the tax landscape.
  • Interact with the Dutch Tax Authorities in regular update meetings (Horizontal and Transparent Way of Working).

Your Profile

The ideal candidate has a degree in fiscal economics or tax law and a minimum of 8 years of experience as a consultant of a big-four accounting firm and/or as an in-house tax manager in a large corporate environment.

You are a specialist with solid understanding of Dutch and International Direct Tax, WHT, Permanent Establishments, Tax Treaties and other international tax aspects.

  • You have a hands-on mentality and you are a team player that takes initiative. A self-starter with a positive and pragmatic attitude that’s able to think outside existing structures;
  • Excellent communication skills and excellent command of Dutch and English are required, whereas another language (e.g. German, Chinese) is considered a big plus;
  • You have excellent analytical and numerical skills, whilst able to draft legal documentation;
  • You have the ability to work on multiple projects/topics simultaneously;
  • Proficient in financial software applications and affinity for automation
