Factor Europe is scaling rapidly, and we are looking for a high-agency Product Analyst to be the first dedicated data hire within our Product team.

In this role, you will dive deep into our most pressing questions on our path to Product-Market Fit: honing in on the problems our customers face, what product decisions drive their behaviour, and why we are winning (or losing) with specific segments. You will be the technical bridge for a small, flat Product team (comprising Culinary R&D, Nutrition, Menu Planning, and Strategy), helping us define our product roadmap and continuously improve the customer experience.

This is an early stage opportunity for an analyst who wants to build. The Factor Europe team operates with the agility and urgency of a startup, but the resources and infrastructure of the HelloFresh Group.

The role: What's in the Box

What you’ll do: The Recipe

1. Deep-Dive Research & Insights

  • Perform in-depth analyses (e.g. cohort analysis, A/B tests) to evaluate the impact of every physical product decision we make, identifying which recipe / menu changes drive customer retention.
  • Tackle complex and open-ended research questions, helping us validate leading hypotheses about our customers’ needs and behaviours, translating messy (and often imperfect) data into clear, digestible narratives.
  • Triangulate quantitative data with qualitative feedback (customer reviews, sensory testing, and surveys) to build a 360-degree view of the customer.
  • Proactively seek out and identify opportunities to improve our customer offering through independent research and analysis.

2. Infrastructure & Tool Building

  • Build and maintain the queries, dashboards, and automated GSheet tools that empower the rest of the Product team to find their own answers.
  • Support the creation and tracking of relevant metrics that will help explain the causal relationship between our team’s weekly actions, customer engagement, and business performance.
  • Automate repetitive data tasks, ensuring the team spends less time updating trackers and more time improving our product offering.

3. Be a Data Champion

  • Build a culture of data-drivenness by promoting data literacy, quality, and best practice within the team.
  • Improve and automate our weekly business performance review process, ensuring data is reliable and available, making this the most valuable meeting of the week.
  • Serve as a data champion beyond the Product team, supporting in automating processes and conducting cross-functional analysis where Product intersects with Production and Procurement.

What you’ll bring: The Ingredients

  • Bias for action: You don’t wait for research questions to come to you; you are curious about what makes our business successful and are constantly looking for insights that will give our team an edge.
  • Resourceful: You don’t get stuck easily: you dig, ask questions, and find a workaround to keep the project moving, even when data tables are messy or undocumented.
  • A storyteller: You understand that data is useless if it isn’t understood; you make complex analysis digestible and actionable for everyone, from our Chefs to senior leadership.
  • A builder: You thrive in the ambiguity of a pre-product/market fit environment, and get satisfaction from building the infrastructure (e.g. a tool or a sheet) that makes your teammates’ lives easier.
  • Intellectually curious: You aren’t satisfied with “what” happened; you are focused on “why” it happened.
  • Customer-obsessed: You’re able to move beyond the data and think through the real-world experience of our customers, building empathy for what delights and frustrates them.
  • Technical proficiency: Mastery of Excel/GSheets and SQL is a must. You should be comfortable using Python for data manipulation and Tableau for data visualization. Curiosity for and familiarity with AI tools is a major plus.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a Product Analytics, Data Analytics, or highly quantitative Business Intelligence role. Experience in a high-growth startup, subscription / e-commerce, and/or FMCG environment is a major plus.
  • Analytical rigour: You know how to structure an experiment, identify biases in data, and ensure that your insights are statistically sound.

Above all, we are looking for people who will make HelloFresh better. There are many different ways of developing skills, and we love diverse experiences! So even if you don’t “tick all the boxes” but think you’d thrive in this role, we would really like to learn more about you.
