As a Technical Service Representative – Marine & Protective, you’ll play a pivotal role in advising on paint applications and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards. Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on paint specifications, application recommendations, and inspection procedures to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Act as the liaison between AkzoNobel, the Account Executive, customers, and contractors.
  • Prepare all relevant documentation prior to customer meetings and project initiation.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and maintain a daily logbook of all site and project activities.
  • Complete reports promptly and accurately, ensuring clarity and detail.
  • Coach and train Technical Service Representative colleagues as needed.
  • Support product testing and trials as required.
  • Adhere to AkzoNobel’s HSE rules and represent the company’s position in case of disputes.
  • Issue disclaimer letters when necessary and always uphold professionalism and ethical conduct.

What do you need to be successful in this role:

  • At least 3 years of experience in technical service, applicator supervision, or quality control.
  • Solid technical knowledge of marine and protective coating products.
  • Familiarity with surface preparation methods and coating application techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Proven ability to make independent decisions and manage your workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Fluency in English (essential).
  • Certifications such as NACE or FROSIO (level 3) are highly desirable.
  • Full EU driving license.
