Head of Engineering

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a background in software development? Do you thrive in managing dynamic teams and driving technical excellence? We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead and grow our technical teams, currently 20-25 FTE, scaling up to 30 FTE.

About the Role

As the Head of Engineering, you will oversee our development teams, Striive and P&P, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and technical growth. You will play a key role in bridging teams together, ensuring business continuity, and driving the success of major projects like our Growth Accelerator and Advanced Headfirst group System, which are in the early stages and expected to be completed in 1-2 years.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead and expand a technical team of 20-30 engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Align team efforts with business objectives while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations (business as usual).
• Drive project execution and technical strategy for our Growth Accelerator and Advanced Headfirst Group System.
• Act as a liaison between engineering, product, and business stakeholders to address concerns from any perspective.
• Ensure efficient workflows, scalability, and long-term technical vision.
• Travel internationally (UK, US, BE) occasionally for collaboration (1-2 times per year).

Wat wij verwachten van jou

• 10-15 years of experience in software engineering and leadership roles.
• Strong managerial experience, with a proven ability to lead and scale engineering teams.
• Technical background in Java and Angular is a plus (not hands-on but must understand technical aspects).
• Experience with SaaS platforms, B2B solutions, web applications, and app creation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, demonstrate empathy, and take a constructive approach to problem-solving.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset – we value leaders who are resilient and solution-oriented.
• Experience in HR-tech, continuous workforce solutions, or similar industries is a plus.
• Speaking the Dutch language is a big plus but not required
