ORTEC is an ambitious organization. Since our founding in 1981, we have grown to employ over 800 people at locations in Europe, the United States, Australia and Brazil. Most of our employees began working with us after completing their studies. The average ORTEC employee has a master or bachelor degree, a strongly developed capacity for analytical thinking and the drive to understand problems – and then to solve them. The company’s organizational structure is flat, with short lines of communication. The atmosphere is open and informal, which forms an excellent basis for a productive working environment.

ORTEC offers an expansive package of employment benefits. In the Netherlands in addition to a market-based salary, you will receive a fixed year-end bonus equal to one month’s salary, an allowance for your private internet subscription and 25 vacation days with the option of purchasing up to an extra three weeks. You will also be issued a laptop, and if necessary a smartphone as well. Flexible working hours (part time and/or working from home) are also an option. New employees begin with a one-year contract, which will be extended as a permanent contract upon satisfactory performance.

Employees are invited to attend the social activities organized by our employees association, and the Friday afternoon drinks in our own ORTap. Furthermore an excursion for your department or ORTEC as a whole is organized annually, such as the Christmas breakfast or a barbecue at one of the founders’ homes. And in addition to the (Young) Professionals Development Program, each month Young ORTEC organizes activities to help develop your talent, increase your knowledge and expand your network.

At ORTEC we are always looking for ambitious students/colleagues who have affinity with IT, optimization and logistics. At ORTEC there are different possibilities for students. As a student you can do a (graduation) internship and/or work parttime as a student assistant.

At ORTEC, it’s not necessary to have work experience; we believe that it is more important that you have a passion for IT, strong analytical thinking skills and are motivated to develop professionally. New employees at ORTEC learn a lot on the job, and your colleagues will always be eager to help.

We have a Young Professionals Development Program for starters. During this program, you will attend a number of internal training courses, have regular meetings with your coach, and have plenty of room to tailor your own education. Once per year, all of our Young Professionals come together during an annual meeting.
