At TomTom, the Maps team sits at the heart of our vision to build the world’s most accurate, fresh, and intelligent map. As an Engineering Manager, you will help evolve the Orbis Road and Lane Models by transforming high‑fidelity, high‑volume data into map content that powers next‑generation navigation, automated driving, and high‑quality Guidance for millions of drivers.

You will turn diverse data sources into a unified, highly accurate representation of the world’s road and lane networks—fueling products and partnerships that rely on TomTom’s map as a competitive differentiator, from global OEMs to cutting‑edge automated driving programs.

What You'll Do

  • Manage your team to execute against project plans and delivery commitment. Identify risks, define corrective mitigation actions and report to higher management.
  • Own the complete software development lifecycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, and leading implementation and testing of new features.
  • Own all business and operational support and metrics for your team’s software.
  • Enable and support your team members to maximize their potential. Identify and implement opportunities to improve the way of working and instigate a continuous improvement culture.
  • Translate customers’ complex functional and technical requirements into technical solutions and define your team’s charter and roadmap based on it.
  • Set up your team for innovation; define new ideas and investments contributing to the future of map-making, in collaboration with the team’s PM.

What You'll Need

  • 2+ years of experience as people manager incl. planning, tracking and reporting on execution. Passion for people management and mentorship.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, physics, or related technical discipline.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to break down complex concepts into easily understood frameworks and models.
  • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience using Cloud Providers (Azure preferred).

What's Nice to Have

  • Experience using the Orbis Platform, e.g. working with Layers incl. Spec, Release process, Q&A.
