Unilever is hiring an Assistant Brand Manager (Cooking Aids) for the Benelux

The Benelux Foods business is one of Europe’s BG led markets and a key contributor to make Foods the growth engine to accomplish topline growth and sustainable UOP growth. Are you passionate about food and looking for a new marketing challenge? We are looking for a driven Assistant Brand Manager to join our ambitious team!

This role offers you the exciting opportunity to work on Knorr, our No.1 Foods brand. The 2nd biggest of Unilever and as a global power brand, right in the heart of our Foods strategy. As Assistant Brand Manager, your mission is to help execute the brand marketing plan and drive sustainable short and long term growth. You will be responsible for a wide range of portfolio projects, and in the driving seat for our Seasonings business. Next to Meal Solutions and Bouillon, this is our 3rd strategic pillar to grow exponentially in the next 5 years.

Obviously, you will not do this alone. No star restaurant has only one chef and if you think you can do it alone, you’re not thinking big enough! You will join a senior & experienced Cooking Aids team that is driven to make an impact, raise the bar & bring Knorr to new horizons. Together you will be on a mission to bring the brand in the Benelux. Expect a marketing role where you can build on your strengths whilst growing new skills fitting in your development plan, coached by your line manager (Marketing lead Cooking Aids BNL) and peers in a high trust support/high challenge set-up. You will balance strategic portfolio projects with a data driven and business focussed approach whilst learning the fundamentals of growing brands through HH penetration, frequency and spend/trip.

Beyond the Knorr team, you will connect frequently with Unilever Foods CBD, CMI and EU teams. Additionally, to make sure Knorr is executed with perfection, you will join a strong agency ecosystem (WPP, U-Studio, influencer agencies in BNL) to drive impact with high efficiency.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

  • Co-driving the Knorr drumbeat to focus on strategic priorities and always delivering with excellence.
  • Leading the Seasonings portfolio (Aromat, Salad Mixes) to double digit growth in the BNL region – adopting a HH penetration strategy fueled by strategic portfolio projects.
  • Drive PPA & RGM in Soups across BNL (wet & dry propositions) to fully exploit its portfolio role.
  • Support in complex inno & renovation projects in Knorr’s wide range of segments, closely partnering with European marketing, P&I, R&D and supply chain teams.
  • Accelerate net productivity, meticulously look for ways to optimise the way we work, increase efficiency and step up our game versus competition to stay unmissably superior.
  • Care deeply, both for our consumers as your colleagues. On a daily base we touch thousands of households, and together we bring the taste everyone loves in a super convenient way.
  • Breathing “Stay 3 steps ahead” behaviour with high energy, motivation and an always learning mindset to lead the charge in Foods and inspire the total Cooking Aids team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Entrepreneurial and agile mindset, think and bring solutions not problems.
  • Strong business acumen, good understanding or willingness to learn the ins & outs of the Cooking Aids P&L and how to bring it to growth using various levers. First experience in CSP or CBD is a plus.
  • High engagement and a pioneering mindset. You like to make your hands dirty & like to roll up your sleeves, no challenge is too big.
  • Experience in managing complex projects with multiple cross functional stakeholders of varying seniority. Experience with portfolio projects for a diverse set of brands/products is a plus.
  • Passion for high performance, taking personal responsibility and accountability for execution and results of the projects you lead.
  • Stress resilient – you keep calm when the pressure is on. The Cooking Aids vertical is highly complex with a huge portfolio and numerous segments – focus on what counts and being able to balance distractions in our strategy and ‘illusion of the day’ is key.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written; native or fluent). Connaissance of French is a plus; knowledge of German will help us grow to a connected quadrilingual team.
  • Willing to travel biweekly (1 day) to the Citydox office (Brussels) as part of our BNL structure. Other office days are at Hofplein (Rotterdam).
