Job description

Why we are here

Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.

What you will do

In this role as Demand Planning & S&OP Expert in our global team in Amsterdam, your primary mission is to strengthen demand forecasting capabilities to improve forecast accuracy, support better decision making, and strengthen our global S&OP process to support growth.

As a Demand Planning & S&OP Specialist, you will drive the design and implementation of Demand Planning processes, improve forecast accuracy, enhance KPI structures, and bring clarity to assumptions, drivers, and risks.

In addition, you will own the global rolling long term forecast by consolidating market inputs, lead cross-functional S&OP forums, and ensure process maturity to deliver actionable insights that drive strategic and financial decisions. You’ll be the bridge between commercial (market) teams and operations, ensuring our demand signals are reliable, transparent, and aligned with our mission to end exploitation in cocoa.

This is an opportunity to help build the next generation of S&OP capabilities. You’ll be hands‑on in designing and implementing S&OP processes within an advanced planning system, strengthening how we plan, align, and make decisions across markets and globally. You will be part of the operations team based in Amsterdam and report directly to the S&OP Manager.

All wrapped up

  • Own the long-term rolling forecast for categories, channels, and markets.
  • Improve demand planning methodologies and tools to lift accuracy and transparency.
  • Define, track, and challenge forecast assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis and drive improvements across forecast accuracy, bias, and stability.
  • Create and refine KPI dashboards and reporting (FCA, BIAS, CFR).
  • Partner with commercial teams to integrate promotions, NPD, trade terms, and channel insights.
  • Facilitate and lead S&OP meetings, fueling insightful discussions in the S&OE process. Contribute to IBP/S&OP process maturity by providing strong analytical insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement in process, cadence, reporting, and data quality.
  • Support the implementation and refinement of planning systems or APS enhancements.
  • Influence stakeholders and drive adoption of best practices.

Job requirements

Our new Ideal Edition

  • Demand Planning is your expertise, ideally at Senior Planner, Lead or Manager Level in FMCG industry; background a fast-paced, mature or international food FMCG environment strongly preferred.
  • Clear understanding of an effective forecasting process and how to shape it with hands-on experience with APS or forecasting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve forecast KPIs and reporting frameworks.
  • Comfortable building high-level and scenario-based rolling forecasts.
  • You are an expert in crunching numbers - you translate data into actionable insights and use it to influence cross-functional decisions.
  • You like rolling up your sleeves and get excited about bringing creative solutions to the table.
  • Experience participating in S&OP/IBP cycles (expertise not required).
  • You leverage your collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills, to build strong relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Builder mindset with ability to work independently and deliver transformation.
  • You raise the bar: challenge yourself and team Tony’s to increase our ambition and to accomplish our mission. Making mistakes along the way and learning from them.
  • We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!
  • Believe wholeheartedly in Tony’s purpose. You live our core values: outspoken, willful, entrepreneurial and makes you smile.

Our Benefits (the Icing On The Cake)

At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first, by making a real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We are dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable quarterly events, and unlimited chocolate.

Tony’s Chocolonely wants to make all chocolate 100% slave free. Not just our chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Not exactly the average company, right? Instead a chocolate company whose primary goal is to resolve a social issue in the world.
