We are looking for a Project/Process Engineer Manager to join our site in Emmen. You report directly into the Plant Director.

Responsibility:

The Project/Process Engineer Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes within our factory in Emmen. Our main products are Installation Cables, Building Wire, Heavy Low Voltage and several types of Compound.

The team consists of 2 employees: 1 Project Engineer and 1 Continuous Improvement Engineer. You will also indirectly manage a number of internal Engineers.

In this position you are responsible for planning, executing, and delivering capital investment projects within a production environment, and leading initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance overall operational performance.

This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives, while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

You engage with the team to support them and their development. In this role you collaborate with various departments to improve and align our product and process standard and drive continuous improvement.

Your main tasks:

  • Monitor the overall CAPEX investments and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety, including a multi-year plan for investments.
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and performance standards.
  • Collect and analyze production data to support improvement initiatives.
  • Use KPIs and metrics to measure project impact and sustainability.
  • Prepare and monitor investment budgets, ensuring cost control and financial reporting accuracy.
  • Drive best practices in project management and contribute to process optimization initiatives.
  • Evaluate completed projects for lessons learned and improvement opportunities.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving goals and objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solution.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance processes in a manufacturing environment, including assembly methods, machining, fabrication, and automation.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing investment or capital projects in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, process and equipment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication.
