Senior Technical Scientist

Within the EMEA CD&D Specialty Ingredients Technical Service group, you will help support customer projects with technical expertise in the field of plant proteins and business development opportunities for the plant-protein market, covering a broad food application space including meat extension, meat alternatives, bakery and more.

You will have the opportunity to work together with a skilled team of food application developers and scientists in our customer-facing facility in Wageningen, The Netherlands.

Our historical expertise in the fast-growing food segment has resulted in a broad portfolio of plant-based protein ingredients across soy, wheat and pea. We offer our technically advanced extrusion and flavor capabilities to meet specific texture and taste needs.

Job Summary

• Support our business growth and business development efforts within the food space at European key accounts and distributors
• Work with direct and indirect customers in North/West Europe
• Tell the ADM plant protein story in front of a customer and help them to co-create relevant applications together with ADM
• Travel and support customers, the sales team and distributors in your region with your technical expertise and know-how
• Advise customers in factory scale-up trials and represent ADM at business fairs and events
• Foster strong customer relationships and participate in internal projects, helping to translate customer needs into full solutions and finished products
• Support cross-selling efforts in Food utilizing our wider ADM portfolio including flavors

Your profile

• Bachelor or Masters degree in food science or technology
• Minimum of five years of experience working in an international technical sales role in the B2B food ingredient industry
• Technical experience in plant-based proteins and savory flavors is a plus
• Ability to translate technically complex concepts into easily understood protein solutions
• Strong project business acumen, presentation and project management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
• Fluent in English
• Working 3 days per week from the Wageningen office
