Medior QA Engineer

As a QA Engineer at SportCity, you play a key role in delivering a high quality and seamless digital experience to our members: from the SportCity apps to our website. You will join a passionate in-house team that's constantly improving how our members connect with their fitness journey.

Working closely with our Senior QA Engineer, you will help shape and evolve our quality assurance strategy to ensure every release meets the highest standards. This is a hands-on role that focuses on thorough manual testing with strong analytical skills to investigate and identify root causes across frontend and backend systems.

You will dive deep into user flows, spot potential issues before they reach our members, and collaborate with developers and designers to make sure every digital interaction feels smooth, fast, and reliable.

About the role

You will (also) be doing:

• Manual Testing: Execute thorough testing for our native Apps (iOS & Android), our website, and back-end systems (Ruby on Rails).
• Quality Advocacy: Review requirements and provide feedback on testability, identifying issues early in the development cycle.
• Test Strategy: Design test cases, prepare test data, and maintain test plans for full coverage.
• Bug Investigation: Conduct in-depth investigations and collaborate with developers to identify root causes.
• Defect Management: Report and track issues with clear, reproducible steps in Jira.
• Collaboration: Work closely with iOS, Android, Web, and Backend engineers to ensure smooth, high-quality releases.

You are a proactive problem-solver with great communication skills and a strong sense of ownership. Detail-oriented and passionate about delivering high-quality user experiences.

Skills

You combine a sharp eye for detail with a technical mindset. You are able to spot edge cases, dive deep into issues, and collaborate effectively with developers.

Knowledge

Jira, GitHub, AppSignal, Playwright (Typescript), iOS (SwiftUI), Android (Kotlin), Web, Ruby on Rails backend.

Experience

You have four to six years of experience in software QA.

What else you bring:

• Strong understanding of web and mobile app technologies and testing approaches.
• Hands-on experience with black-box testing, covering requirements analysis, test-case design, test-data creation, and bug reporting.
• Experience with Jira for issue tracking.
