Be part of progress: Join our Machine Conditioning team at ASML and help improve the performance of cutting-edge EUV lithography machines

Join our Machine Conditioning team at ASML and help improve the performance of cutting-edge EUV lithography machines. In this internship, you will work on modeling particle motion in critical components of these systems. Your contribution will help optimize fluid flow and ensure the reliability of advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology. If you are passionate about simulation and coding, this is your chance to make an impact.

Your assignment

You will improve and document an existing MATLAB-based model that tracks particle motion in EUV machines. The goal is to make the model modular, accurate, and easy to use for future development.

  • Get familiar with existing models.
  • Create extensive documentation of the model and workflow for future users.

Additionally, you can also get involved in activities such as:

  • Creating a modular setup to test new particle-wall interaction models.
  • Implementing and validating a new particle-wall interaction model.
  • Identifying key performance indicators for benchmarking.
  • Analyzing data and evaluating findings to improve model accuracy.
  • Reporting results to stakeholders for technical decision-making.
  • Collaborating with engineers and researchers across teams.

This is a bachelor’s or master’s apprentice internship for 3–4 months, 5 days per week (minimum 3 days on-site). The start date for this internship is as soon as possible.

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

  • Are enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, computer science or applied physics.
  • Have experience with MATLAB scripting and coding.
  • Are skilled at debugging and solving problems in a structured way.
  • Are analytical, proactive, and self-driven.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
