Why we are here
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.

What you will do

We are looking for a Sustainability Project Manager to join our sustainability team in Amsterdam. The main goal of this new role is to execute sustainability projects, with a focus on sustainable sourcing, carbon reduction, and social impact initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build key projects from the ground up, define new sustainability standards, and work directly with our supplier partners globally and cross-functionally. If you are an experienced project manager and want to make some serious impact in the world of chocolate, we are looking for you! You'll be part of our global Operations team and report to the Head of Sustainability.

All wrapped up

  • Sustainable sourcing: Implement and follow up on sustainable sourcing policies across all our suppliers and ingredients outside of cocoa to ensure compliance. Conduct regular risk assessments, support our Procurement team in sustainable sourcing and supplier assessments, assist the Head of Sustainability in decision-making, track progress, and provide analytical insights to the team.
  • Supplier engagement: Support supplier onboarding and work closely with key suppliers to co-develop improvement initiatives, share best practices, and monitor and track progress to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Climate and nature projects: Support the team in carbon reduction and agriculture projects by contributing to project planning, execution, and reporting. Help integrate sustainability into wider efficiency projects in the company that deliver environmental value.
  • Social impact initiatives: Initiate, design, and manage social impact projects with relevant partners to address identified risks and work closely with our Tony's Open Chain (TOC) team. Monitor and report on project outcomes, ensuring transparency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Internal coordination: Align efforts across departments and drive internal upskilling by organizing training sessions, leading sustainability storytelling, and organizing events to strengthen awareness and foster a culture of sustainability.

Job requirements

Our Ideal New Edition

  • 2-4 years of experience in sustainability, supply chain, or project management within a corporate or NGO setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with tight deadlines and translating strategy into measurable outcomes.
  • Understanding of ESG topics and sustainability practices, especially in sourcing, logistics, operations, and social impact.
  • Solid experience in managing stakeholders and clear communication skills.
  • You raise the bar: challenge yourself and team Tony’s to increase our ambition and to accomplish our mission, learning from mistakes along the way.
  • We value being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!
  • Believe wholeheartedly in Tony’s purpose. You live our core values: In it together, Entrepreneurial, Outspoken, Make you smile, and Raise the bar.

Our Benefits (the Icing On The Cake)
At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first, by making a real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We are dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching, and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including lunch, company bonus, a minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable quarterly events, and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate will not cover the bills, so we have made sure your salary is just as rewarding. For this role, that means a salary between EUR 48-60k on a yearly basis.

Sounds like you?
Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Look no further! If you are ready to take the chocolate industry to new heights with us, we would love to hear from you. Please send your direct application, no agencies. We cannot wait to hear from you!

Tony’s Chocolonely wants to make all chocolate 100% slave free. Not just our chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Not exactly the average company, right? Instead a chocolate company whose primary goal is to resolve a social issue in the world.
