How do you make our customers happy?

By taking the helm of one or several strategic projects within bol’s sprawling and thriving Product & Tech department, you will be co-shaping the future of how we serve our 13 million customers and 49,000 partner sellers. As Strategic Program Manager for bol’s Product & Tech department, you’ll drive initiatives that have far-reaching impacts on our platform’s capabilities, ultimately enhancing the shopping experience across our catalog of 37 million articles.

The biggest challenge

You’ll navigate a complex landscape where each program is ‘served’ with a unique set of stakeholders, timelines, and objectives. You’ll need to engage in high-level problem-solving and formulate strategies that align with bol’s overarching vision. The challenge lies in combining and leveraging internal and external information to drive project outcomes to ensure we deliver as much value for our customers as possible. You’ll need to get to the core of problems quickly, proposing effective solutions that resonate with senior leadership.

What you'll do as Strategic Program Manager

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Programs Product & Tech, you’ll be at the forefront of bol’s strategic initiatives within Product & Tech. You’ll collaborate closely with the Product Portfolio & Operations team and work with various senior leadership stakeholders across the Product and Tech departments. You will work with senior leadership, product managers, engineering teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure program success. Your ability to prioritize, structure problems, and maintain an oversight and helicopter view will be crucial in guiding these strategic programs to success.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Lead one or several strategic projects within the Product & Tech department
  • Solve complex problems and translate challenges into well formulated strategies & project roadmaps aligned with bol’s vision
  • Drive program planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring objectives, timelines, and resources are well-managed, while mitigating risks and dependencies
  • Manage senior leadership stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, data, and business) to ensure seamless execution of programs
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure program success and ensure continuous improvement
  • Communicate program status, insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the Product & Tech organization
  • Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements to drive strategic decision-making within bol’s Product & Tech department

Key qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a strategic, operational, or consulting role. Preferably with experience in technology-driven organizations.
  • Senior stakeholder management: Direct experience partnering with C-suite and top leaders on programmes and projects.
  • Entrepreneurship: Ability to (re)define your scope, identify the most critical problems, and challenge assumptions when reality proves them wrong. Lead with evidence, influence with clarity, and be bold.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Strategic thinking: Demonstrated ability to think long-term, anticipate challenges, and develop actionable strategies that drive business growth and cross-functional alignment.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills, with a track record of solving complex challenges in dynamic environments.
  • Communication: Strong storytelling abilities, with the ability to translate technical initiatives into business impact.
  • Agility: Comfortable with change and able to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
  • Innovative Thinking: Ability to think creatively and identify new opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Nice to have – Product & Tech passion: Understanding of Product & Tech organizations, e.g. product management, software development, data, analytics and AI. Awareness of emerging technologies and market trends relevant to the bol ecosystem.
