Here’s what we’ll do together:

The District Manager leads G-STAR fullprice stores in the Benelux region to meet or exceed agreed retail sales, sell-through, profit and other KPI targets, maximizing the business for G-STAR. You drive a sales and service culture to optimize the customer shopping and brand experience, as well as store performance. The focus of the District Manager is to build and sustain a workplace staffed with engaged, high performing Store Managers and teams who create a distinct customer experience representing the G-STAR DNA.

You will lead, guide, coach, and support your direct reports, while collaborating closely with relevant departments at headquarters. This role requires a willingness to travel frequently, as travel to our stores is a significant part of the job.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • Sales & KPI management for assigned region
    • Drive, review, and analyze the weekly performance of the assigned stores.
    • Facilitate and lead a weekly regional trade performance meeting including all of your stores.
    • Implement and drive the use of company-created sales (planning) tools.
    • Improve the performance of your stores while real-time monitoring the KPIs, revenues, and P&L.
    • Develop and drive weekly and monthly action plans; prioritize activities for stores.
    • Responsibility for labor cost accuracy, budget, and store team blueprint.
    • Provide functional leadership, coaching, and support to the store managers to achieve their KPIs and advance results around talent, operations, merchandising, financial, and customer aspects of the business.
    • Provide Head of Retail with real-time performance insights, trends, and business drivers.
    • Align the store plans with national marketing campaigns where relevant.
  • Team development
    • Identify training needs for store staff and provide training solutions either via e-learning or by conducting onsite training (sales & service, business planning, product knowledge, operational excellence). Provide on-the-ground coaching to Store Management and store staff.
    • Responsible for management, development, and performance of the store managers and store staff to assume leadership roles by overseeing the hiring, training, and development on sales techniques, customer service, teamwork, and G-STAR DNA.
    • Supervise staff planning in stores and identify opportunities to improve the staffing plan. Right people, right place, right time.
    • Ensure and drive a safe and inclusive environment and culture.
    • Drive and optimize team engagement.
  • Store operations
    • Ensure all company-set policies and procedures are executed, adhered to, and always upheld by all store staff.
    • Secure and uphold a premium execution of set standards and take action to improve if needed.
    • Drive and uphold operational excellence through thorough execution of (weekly) stock takes, RFID, accounting, repairs, petty cash, and all key audit points.
    • Drive operational excellence of all omnichannel tasks like ship from store, endless aisle, CRM, etc.
    • Ensure the execution of visual merchandising standards and the execution of seasonal retail marketing campaigns are aligned with global standards and requirements (including presentation of product, mannequins, windows, and signage).
    • Assist in all relevant store opening, refit, and closure processes.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a regional or district sales manager.
  • Solid understanding of retail, retail KPIs, budgeting and forecasting, and developing action plans to drive store performance.
  • Relevant experience in Apparel, Fashion, and/or Retail industry.
  • Strong work ethic: being proactive, dedicated, and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.
  • Leadership, training, and coaching skills.
  • Willingness to travel (70% business travel).
  • High energy, commercial, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch & English.
