What will you do as a Senior Business Development Manager?
Join us in a role driving our company's strategic growth within the dynamic energy transition. You will lead the development of a hydrogen and ammonia terminal as the business opportunity manager for our ACE Storage project. Additionally, you will serve as Business Development Manager for other energy projects at various stages, including the prolongation of our EET (LNG) project. This position reports directly to the Director of Business Development.
What do we expect from you as a Senior Business Development Manager?
- Demonstrated academic work and thinking level with a background in technical education.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant international work experience in origination, corporate development, and/or business development within the energy industry.
- Direct experience in developing ammonia to H2, H2 cracking, and LNG. A strong existing network in the hydrogen space is essential.
- Excellent project management skills, a solid understanding of financial constructions, and strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Comprehensive knowledge of market circumstances, and relevant industry regulations.

Your key responsibilities for the ACE Storage Project:
- Lead and manage the ACE storage project, focusing on the development of an ammonia terminal and supporting hydrogen cracking initiatives.
- Initiate the project from a business perspective and manage the Front-End Loading (FEL) up to investment proposal submission.
- Develop business case scenarios and ensure financial viability of the project.
- Actively approach customers and negotiate agreements (e.g., Heads of Agreement, contracts) in line with marketing plans and pricing strategies.
- Prepare investment proposals and the Final Investment Decision for various levels of management.
- Collaborate with other project members and project partners, from the start of the project to choose the right project solution and define the project scope and boundaries.
- Manage, build, and develop a complex stakeholder field, including managing a joint development agreement with our future JV partner, Gasunie.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of JV complexity, including differences and shared interests, to resolve potential conflicts and achieve alignment.
- Coordinate cross-functional alignment by leading a team with people from multiple organizations, ensuring close cooperation to make projects a success.
Broader Business Development Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with partners to drive development activities, from initial concept through to final investment decision.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of market dynamics, including competitor analysis and customer needs, to inform business strategy.
- Manage project development activities, ensuring adherence to investment guidelines, company policies, and safety and environmental regulations.
- Contribute to the financial structuring of projects, with a solid grasp of project financing requirements and investment models.
- Prepare and present business cases and project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, representing the company at industry forums and platforms.
- Translate complex findings into actionable recommendations and identify growth opportunities.
