You & Your Role

You will help design and develop innovative sanctions controls, directly contributing to Rabobank’s ambition to be best in class in regulatory compliance. You design strategic sanctions proposals and steer the maturity of sanctions controls across the bank. You will be at the centre of pioneering new solutions to detect sanctions circumvention, working in a dynamic, collaborative team. As Strategic Design Expert Sanctions, you will use your knowledge of regulations and circumvention typologies to achieve ambitious goals and support Rabobank’s mission to create a better world.

• Collaborating with technical and development teams to implement new detection measures.
• Analysing reporting data to improve controls and solutions.
• Advising on sanctions issues related to circumvention.

Top 3 Responsibilities

• Identifying and designing effective detection measures for contemporary circumvention typologies, ensuring practical implementation and accuracy.
• Keeping track of new advisories, reports, compliance papers, and best practices published by regulators and think tanks, and providing input to technical teams.
• Engaging with stakeholders from sanctions, development, and investigation teams to address issues, enable decision making, and streamline coordination.

You will also analyse testing results and propose adjustments to improve detection accuracy and mitigate operational impact.

You & Your Talent

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 2–4 years’ experience in sanctions advisory, controls design, or circumvention investigations.
• Ability to work with and analyse extensive customer and transaction data sets.
• Strong attention to detail for accuracy and consistency.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with senior stakeholder management and high organizational sensitivity and integrity.
• You have a keen interest in financial crime, including sanctions, and you are ready to develop your knowledge and skills in this space.
