Are you an experienced tax specialist ready to take the lead in complex, cross-border challenges? You will play a key role in shaping and executing our global strategy — ensuring compliance, optimizing processes, and providing trusted advice to senior management. Join a company where your expertise drives real impact and helps secure a sustainable future.

The Opportunity to Shape Global Mobility Tax Compliance

The international projects of our company result in a complex landscape of international personal tax compliance and payroll obligations. As a Global Mobility Senior Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for helping navigate our business and employees through this complexity. With respect to Dutch tax matters, you will be the subject matter expert regarding wage tax, tax treaties, relevant tax base, payroll aspects, and the application of the Dutch WKR.

You will be part of our Global Mobility team and will work closely with colleagues from Tax, Finance, and Payroll, as well as external advisors, to ensure full compliance. Your position will be based at our head office in Rotterdam.

Your Impact

You will be responsible for and manage the different aspects of Dutch, local, and international wage tax and personal tax. Although processes and policies are in place, there is opportunity for improvement. Besides acting as a sparring partner in your team, you will, amongst others:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the business with respect to our international projects.
  • Apply and develop integrated solutions and formulate policies, procedures, and guidelines, in line with our existing Global Mobility strategy and business needs, to fulfill the needs and obligations of the company.
  • Translate legislative changes — both Dutch and international — into practical internal guidelines and policies.
  • Optimize the “vrije ruimte” of the Dutch WKR.
  • Prepare and support audits and reviews by the (Dutch) Tax Authorities and other relevant institutions.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential to be successful in this role. You are considered the expert on all personal tax matters and you need to translate this to the operations as well.

Your Workplace

You are the linking pin between the global mobility team, tax, payroll, and our international projects. Within our line of business, we work with several different work/leave schedules, both on sea and land, creating challenging complexities.

About You

  • A master’s degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics
  • At least 6 years’ experience in an international environment, preferably within (maritime) in-house roles or advisory firms
  • Extensive knowledge of both domestic and international wage tax and income tax regulations, with a proven track record of navigating complex tax issues for both regular personnel and seafarers
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, combined with the ability to think strategically and solve problems creatively
  • You enjoy working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment and collaborating effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
'Laat zien wat je kan en welke ambitie je hebt, en je krijgt hier alle kansen er wat mee te doen. Daar ben ik trots op!'
