What you do as a medior/senior geotechnical earthquake consultant

As a medior/senior geotechnical earthquake consultant, you will work on projects ranging from impressive high-profile multidisciplinary projects to smaller projects requiring seismic specialist input. You might alternate between the roles of specialist, design leader, or reviewer providing geotechnical seismic advice, and supervise and train teams with junior and medior colleagues.

You will have challenging work in enthusiastic and diverse teams. You will contribute with your specialist knowledge to complex and diverse engineering projects, cooperating with colleagues from our different offices in the Netherlands, UK, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, and others. As an experienced specialist, you will deliver smart, practical, and efficient solutions in line with good practices. You can come up with innovative solutions and have an eye for geotechnical risk management.

You will become part of the Advisory Group Infrastructure Nijmegen and Amersfoort in the Netherlands. We excel in a wide variety of services and skills in the fields of climate resilience and maritime developments. We provide our clients, both private and (semi) governmental, with a range of services throughout the various phases of a project: from inception, through master planning, feasibility, design, and all the way to construction supervision.

We have a strong foothold in the Netherlands, but we operate worldwide. Within this advisory group, you will be working together with a diverse group of geotechnical and geological engineers in an international environment. As a passionate consultant, you will join a team of engineers based in Amersfoort or Nijmegen who provide advice in the fields of maritime structures, hydraulic engineering, diverse infrastructure, airports, tunnels, dikes, land reclamations, and buildings in the Netherlands and globally.

What you bring

As a geotechnical earthquake consultant, you should meet the following criteria:

  • MSc or PhD in Geo-Engineering (Geological or Geotechnical Engineering) with graduation project (e.g., thesis) and/or courses specialized in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering or Engineering Seismology
  • Medior: more than 5 years of experience; Senior: more than 12 years of experience
  • Good numerical skills (e.g., Plaxis) and affinity with digital developments (e.g., scripting, automation)
  • Able to manage and collaborate with diverse colleagues; cooperative, commercial, and able to quickly make contacts
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills (Dutch is a preference, but not a must)
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to travel when required
  • Identifies with our strategy ‘Enhancing Society Together’
