The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for the development, execution, and optimization of trade programs focused on the Tobacco and Petrol channels. Key programs include category management, trade engagement, and various online and offline activation initiatives aimed at implementing legislative changes in the short to mid-term with our key trade partners. The successful candidate is expected to continuously develop new and updated programs aligned with our overall M&S strategies and objectives. This role works closely with the Brand and Channel Management teams and maintains regular contact with trade partners and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the entire M&S community and supporting functions to ensure alignment and buy-in for assigned multi-channel trade programs and activities.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness against KPIs, monitor results, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive in-store retailer brand awareness to maximize knowledge transfer in an increasingly restricted market.
  • Create an omni-channel approach that delivers effective, consumer-centric trade marketing tools—both online and offline—targeting retailer and shopper-facing staff in a consistent, integrated, and engaging manner, while remaining compliant with legislation.
  • Develop and deliver strategic category management projects and provide ongoing multi-category advice to Trade in cooperation with Channel, Strategic Insights, and Brand Marketing.
  • Support Channel Management in preparing for Trade Marketing meetings and participate when appropriate to strengthen business and trade relationships within assigned channels and accounts.
  • Advance data-driven program management and optimization, ensuring decisions are based on available data and trade insights that support JTI’s objectives.
  • Create action plans based on retailer feedback and needs, and enhance our digital relevance by leveraging analytics to improve the online experience for retailers.
  • Monitor and report the trade marketing budget via monthly budget tracking.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in Sales or Trade Marketing within a leading A-brand consumer goods company. This hands-on expertise is essential and prioritized over formal education.
  • A WO/HBO degree in a commercial or trade marketing discipline is considered an asset, providing valuable theoretical support to your practical experience.
  • Fluency in English; Dutch strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Project management experience, including working in cross-functional teams and managing external partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for trade partner meetings, events, or field visits.
