As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a key member of our Services team - a group of highly motivated specialists ensuring the seamless implementation of our AI-powered banking platform for financial institutions worldwide.

Working closely with the clients, partners, and development squads, you will use your expertise to guide teams, solve unique project challenges, drive platform adoption, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects. You will report directly to the Chapter Lead of the Hub.

What you'll do

Your core mission is to act as a strategic partner to our clients, helping them achieve their business goals by leveraging the full potential of the Backbase platform. You will guide them in adopting our platform's capabilities to their maximum extent, aligning our technology with their unique needs and vision for an outstanding customer experience.

In this role you will:

  • Lead engaging workshops with clients to analyse, capture, and prioritise their business needs.
  • Translate client vision into a clear and well-defined backlog, managing scope and expectations effectively.
  • Guide clients on the optimal use of the Backbase platform, promoting out-of-the-box features over customisation to enable rapid delivery and long-term value.
  • Collaborate with Backbase R&D to assess customisation needs, exploring product options and recommending enhancements aligned with the product roadmap.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on both the financial services industry and the Backbase platform, confidently demonstrating its capabilities.
  • Mentor other Business Analysts and actively contribute to improving best practices within our global team.

You are an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills who thrives on building relationships with stakeholders at every level. You are a pragmatic, resilient problem-solver with the composure to excel in a fast-paced, multicultural, and international environment.

Experience & Skills:

Essential:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business analysis, including a minimum of 5 years in a client-facing capacity, delivering solutions for complex business needs.
  • At least 3 years of proven expertise in the Financial Services sector, with strong knowledge of digital banking, investments, or lending.
  • Deep expertise in Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams in iterative solution development.
  • Advanced requirements management skills: business process modeling, defining and refining epics, user stories, use cases, and managing change at scale.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement abilities: able to communicate with impact, influence senior decision-makers, and build consensus across diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and collaboration platforms, such as Jira and Confluence, and the ability to optimise their use for large-scale initiatives.
  • Professional fluency in English, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites as required, with a collaborative mindset and willingness to lead in-person workshops and strategy sessions.

Desirable:

  • At least one year of hands-on experience with the Backbase product.
  • Specialisation in at least one financial product line (e.g. Retail, SME, Lending, Investing).
  • Experience with AI tools and their application in financial services.
