Reports to: Senior Manager Retail Alliances

This is a permanent full-time role. Candidates are preferably located in NL but we are also considering applications from other TMICC locations; relocation is required.

JOB PURPOSE

The Global Value Channel is second only to e-Commerce in growth and holds significant importance across our business. To achieve our channel ambition, it is critical that we continue to deliver sustainable growth ahead of the rest of the business with centralized Value Retailers Lidl & Aldi. This is where you come in!

Within the European Customer Development team, you will be at the center of where CD strategy is created and will be responsible for delivering long term results which shape the trajectory of our business.

Our job is to support our local market teams to deliver both internal & external incremental value by delivering CD’s Future-Fit priorities through strategic partnership with our international customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run the commercial relationship with Lidl & Aldi for Europe, delivering a sustainable and accelerated growth agenda.
  • Lead and deliver centralized contract negotiations on behalf of TMICC local markets, focusing on high impact growth or risk mitigation initiatives (with a focus on topline and competitive growth for TMICC).
  • Own the coordination, governance, and conflict resolution across TMICC local markets for Lidl & Aldi, representing MICC towards the retailers.
  • Represent Lidl & Aldi to cross-functional teams to deliver initiatives that unlock a future-fit growth agenda (addressing the key requirements of its unique Customer Economic Model) – work closely with central and local teams as the key internal interface.
  • Develop and share customer-specific capabilities, best practice examples, and negotiation learnings across TMICC market teams.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • At least 5+ years commercial working experience in Customer Development or equivalent.
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to create value for both the Customer & TMICC.
  • Ability to navigate through the organization and influence at various levels.
  • Collaborative mindset and a true team player.
  • Trade category and channel experience is an added advantage.
  • Professional English is required. Professional German is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As publicly announced, it is envisaged that Unilever will internally separate its Ice Cream business by July 2025, at which point this role will transfer to the new Ice Cream company. It is expected that the Ice Cream business will then separate from Unilever by the end of 2025. Any impact on terms and conditions of employment will be communicated in due course.
