This Is What Your Role Looks Like 

The Interim Financial Controller is part of the Financial Control team (14 FTE); a talented international team with quick-thinking financial professionals who generate high-quality reports while working closely with the business. 

In the Interim Financial Controller role, you’ll take ownership of the correct and complete processing and reporting of part of our business. You are responsible for maintaining, processing, and reporting all general ledger transactions that take place within the payroll expense and other miscellaneous topics in the P/L and balance sheet accounts for all operating countries. Together with the Financial Accountant, you’ll ensure that all business transactions have been properly and timely recorded, that the general ledgers are complete and accurate, and that all transactions are valid. Furthermore, your tasks include month-end reporting, the preparation of statutory reporting, and supporting external audits. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare and ensure accurate and timely recording of journal entries (monthly payroll imports), accruals and other ad hoc tasks for payroll expense accounts and other related expense accounts.
  • Analyse monthly movements and provide commentary for management meetings.
  • Create and review reconciliations and specifications for all balances included in the balance sheet and relevant P&L accounts.
  • Proactively pursue business issues that impact the general ledger and propose possible solutions.
  • Support external audit requirements and other external reporting requirements.
  • Support Local audit requirements and related reporting requirements.
  • Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other departments throughout Basic-Fit, e.g., payroll.

Who Are You? 

We are looking for a dedicated and sparkling colleague who is unafraid to take the lead and take our finance-related challenges to the next level. You’re a self-starter and a problem solver, you are accurate, and you like to work in a dynamic, positive environment to develop your own skills and interests.   

Additionally, we're looking for someone who has: 

  • A Bachelor/Master degree in Finance (HBO/WO); 
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar environment and/or position;
  • Proficiency with handling and analyzing (big) data sets in tools such as MS Excel; 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;   
  • Good communication skills in French is a big plus;   
  • Experience with IFRS and SAP (S4/HANA Public Cloud) is preferred;
  • Experience with Local GAAP (France) is a big plus;
  • Ability to interact with all departments and management levels throughout our organization.
