Your Impact

As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll work side-by-side with the Managing Director, Europe, and collaborate closely with our commercial and finance teams across Canada, the US, and EMEA. You’ll be the financial steward, ensuring our processes—from budgeting to forecasting to year-end closing—are robust, insightful, and aligned with Champion’s vision for excellence.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Lead Financial Planning: Own the budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
• Strategic Partnership: Build strong relationships with Area Commercial management, corporate finance, and Champion’s CFO—acting as a trusted advisor and business partner.
• Drive Growth: Support and model the Europe Region Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long-term growth strategies, translating vision into actionable plans.
• Deliver Insights: Provide analytical support, scenario planning, and performance reporting that empower our teams to make informed decisions.
• Guide Investments: Evaluate long-term investment opportunities, considering cash flow, ROI, and risk to maximize value for Champion.
• Shape Strategy: Analyze key business drivers, assess strategic options, and identify risks—ensuring every decision is grounded in data and insight.
• Champion Pricing: Uphold regional pricing strategies and collaborate with corporate finance to optimize pricing across markets.
• Optimize Marketing Spend: Manage A&P processes and analyze marketing expenditures to ensure effectiveness and impact.
• Foster Collaboration: Work seamlessly with global finance teams to ensure alignment and shared success.

What are we looking for?

• University degree in Business or Accounting; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in financial leadership, with a proven track record in complex, multi-market environments.
• Deep understanding of financing, operations, and financial markets.
• Exceptional partnership-building and negotiation skills—internally and externally.
• Proven leadership in developing teams and driving results.
• Outstanding communication skills—clear, confident, and inspiring.
• Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior organizational and time management skills, with a knack for thriving under pressure.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities.
• Self-directed and collaborative—able to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
• Confident presenter, able to communicate financial insights to all audiences.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
• Ability to travel across locations as required.
