We are now looking for a Finance & People Operations Associate to join our team in Amsterdam. This hybrid role combines finance, people operations, office management, and compliance support. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic startup environment.

Your Role

As a Finance & People Operations Associate, you will play a key role in keeping Surfly running smoothly. You will be responsible for ensuring our finances are in order, our people are supported, and our compliance processes are well managed.

Your work will be split across three main areas:

Finance & Accounting (≈40%)

• Bookkeeping and day-to-day financial administration.
• Oversee ChargeBee for subscription creation and invoicing.
• Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.
• Monitor outstanding balances, process payments, and issue client invoices while following up on overdue payments.
• Assist in the preparation of P&L statements and financial reporting.

People & Office Operations (≈40%)

• Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring a smooth experience.
• Manage the office environment: supplies, cleanliness, equipment, and Jumbo orders.
• Support the team with events, celebrations, and company gatherings.
• Ensure employees have everything they need to do their best work.

Compliance (≈20%)

• Manage Drata for compliance tracking.
• Organize and collaborate on audits.
• Draft, maintain, and manage company policies.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in finance or accounting, with strong attention to detail.
• Interested in people operations/HR and eager to support team wellbeing.
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling different responsibilities.
• A strong communicator in English (Dutch is a plus).
• Tech-savvy, ideally with experience in ERP systems like Exact Online (or similar).
• A team player with a hands-on attitude – no task is too big or too small.
