For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for an Intern Compliance / Privacy for our Compliance Department.

About the role

You will be part of the Compliance Department, which is responsible for Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) at Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. (YME). You will support the Compliance and Privacy Teams on a range of tasks including Data Subject Requests (DSRs) and sanction list screening checks, as part of Yamaha’s Security Trade Control (STC) compliance. Flexibility is key, as you may also support other colleagues from the team as needed, on anything from managerial approval to risk management.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Privacy & Data Protection
  • Support the Privacy Team in day-to-day tasks including inbox management and administration such as task trackers
  • Assist in the migration of YME’s Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) to OneTrust
  • Respond to Data Subject Requests (DSRs) in line with internal policies and guidelines
  • Support in implementing and advocating for privacy and data protection related rules, policies and procedures amongst YME management and employees based on national and European privacy law requirements
  • Create presentations for trainings and awareness raising activities related to privacy and data protection
  • Support branches and subsidiaries in any privacy and data protection related issues
  • Monitor legislative developments, trends and future changes in the privacy environment relevant to Yamaha
• Security Trade Control (STC)
  • Support YME’s Security Trade Control Team with inbox management and maintaining the Security Trade Control Tracker
  • Carry out Security Trade Control checks for branches and subsidiaries, as well as maintaining proper record keeping
  • Conduct legal research on the development and/or changes in international trade laws and sanctions regulations
• Various supporting tasks within the scope of Compliance
  • Provide general support to the wider Compliance team, such as creating presentations to local and senior management, drafting user-guides, and various ad-hoc tasks
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Compliance team, such as maintaining various tracking documents, note-taking for cross-departmental and committee meetings, and ensuring smooth operation of video conferencing tools for hybrid meetings
  • Be a proactive member of the Compliance and Privacy Team who contributes to Yamaha's compliance culture

What do you bring?

• A registered Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student, preferably in the area of Law
• Available for 5 days a week, including at least 2 days a week in the office for a period of 6 months
• Excellent command of professional English in writing and spoken - other European languages are a plus
• Basic knowledge of European privacy legislation including, in particular, the GDPR
• Basic knowledge of Company law and/or Business law
• Prior work experience is appreciated, but not required
• This position is not suitable for thesis/research project

Yamaha Motor Europe is responsible for coordinating the marketing and sales activities of our products in the European market, mainly: Yamaha motorcycles, scooters, eBikes, marine engines, personal watercraft vehicles, boats, 4-wheeled all terrain and side-by-side vehicles (ATVs/SSVs), lightweight vehicles (golf cars, personal and commercial vehicles) and eBike drive units and systems.
