About this role:

As a Technical Account Manager API, you will play a crucial role at the intersection of sales and technology, focusing on our partners whose integration with our platform relies on APIs. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the technical and relationship aspects of these key API partnerships, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. On top of that, you will identify and prioritise opportunities for growth and efficiency through our API solutions. You are the link between our sales teams, partners, and product & tech teams.

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners' technical and business teams to ensure successful API integrations and ongoing operational efficiency.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on our API capabilities, supporting the sales and account management teams in discussions with partners to demonstrate value and troubleshoot technical queries.
  • Oversee the technical integration process for new and existing API partners, identify areas for optimization, and work with internal tech teams to implement improvements.
  • Provide first-line technical support and problem-solving for API-related issues encountered by partners, escalating complex problems to relevant internal teams when necessary.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal teams to design and propose API-driven solutions that meet business needs and improve partner performance on the platform.
  • Be the key local contact for our global integrations team, responsible for managing the internal relationship and translating/steering the global integrations strategy into a successful local plan.
  • Monitor API usage and performance metrics, identifying trends, potential issues, and opportunities for enhanced efficiency.
  • Contribute to maintaining up-to-date API documentation and promote best practices for API usage internally and externally.
  • Stay informed about API trends and competitor offerings to proactively identify new opportunities for API product development that can benefit our sales strategy.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, or a related field; a strong understanding of technical concepts is essential.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an API-focused role, technical account management, solution engineering, or a similar technical sales support function.
  • Solid understanding of APIs, web services (REST, SOAP), data formats (JSON, XML), and common integration patterns. Ability to read and understand code snippets is a strong plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and building strong relationships.
  • A strong drive to understand partner needs and translate them into effective technical solutions that drive business value.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects or integrations simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across internal teams (Sales, Product, Tech) and external partners.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
  • Know how to act in an ever-changing environment and complex organisational structure.
  • A flexible, results-oriented, solution-oriented, and creative way of operating.
