Our solution offers flexible PBX systems integrated with AI, instant messaging, chat rooms, presence, audio/video conferencing, and meeting rooms. The platform is designed for high availability, horizontal scalability, multicast replication, redundancy, and extreme performance, with a strong emphasis on security (TLS, SRTP).

THE ROLE

As a Backend Developer, you will take full ownership of your work—from architecture and development to deployment and support. You’ll be part of a professional development team based in the Netherlands, working closely with QA Engineers, SRE Engineers, and a Product Owner. You’ll collaborate with other teams to ensure technology alignment across the platform and deliver a seamless, reliable experience to our partners and their customers.

This is a full-time position (minimum four days per week) focused on Elixir development. While prior experience with Elixir is a plus, it is not required from day one. We welcome developers who are eager and motivated to learn.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services using Elixir and the BEAM VM
• Building and optimizing real-time communication features such as chat, presence, conferencing, and PBX integrations
• Ensuring system resilience, security, and performance through thoughtful architecture and testing
• Collaborating with SREs to monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Participating in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and tooling

WHO ARE YOU?

You bring:

• At least 3 years of experience as a backend developer in production environments
• Strong understanding of software development principles and ability to write high-quality, testable code
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Good communication skills and experience working in collaborative teams
• Fast learning ability and motivation to grow
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Willingness to learn and work with Elixir

Nice to have:

• Prior experience with Elixir or other functional programming languages
• Knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, or service-oriented architectures
• Familiarity with SIP and real-time communication protocols
• Appreciation for open-source software
