Interim Manager of Information Management

We are currently looking for an Interim Manager of Information Management to join the team in Delft.

This role provides an opportunity to ensure continuity in the management of digital systems and processes within the education domain while supporting ongoing developments aligned with the organization’s digital strategy.

The education, logistics, and administration operations rely heavily on digital systems. In this role, you will ensure these systems are stable, user-friendly, and future-proof, while guiding innovation and maintaining operational continuity. You will directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality education for students and faculty, ensuring that digital solutions effectively support teaching and administrative processes.

The Information Management department acts as the critical link between educational needs and ICT capabilities. You will oversee teams responsible for system performance, reliability, and user satisfaction, and advocate for the impact of digital initiatives on teaching and learning. You will work closely with ICT, academic leadership, and education directors, representing the education domain in the organization’s broader digital strategy.

The project will last for 6 months, with an ideal start as soon as possible.

Main responsibilities

• Lead the digital transformation of the education domain, with a focus on information, process, and data management.
• Ensure stable operation of key educational systems, a consistent education architecture, and the implementation of innovative digital products.
• Develop sustainable and future-ready information management practices in collaboration with ICT, the library, and other academic support units.
• Harmonize processes across faculties to improve administrative and logistical efficiency.
• Support the shift towards multidisciplinary teams and the end-to-end redesign of critical educational processes.
• Enhance the reliability of data and dashboards to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Manage a team of approximately 40 professionals, including functional administrators, data and reporting specialists, team leaders, project managers, business analysts, and process experts.
• Provide functional leadership to an ICT domain architect and foster collaboration across international and diverse teams.

Requirements

• Academic work and thinking level, with excellent proficiency in Dutch and English.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in information management, product ownership, or leading comparable teams in a complex organization.
• Demonstrated expertise in agile methods, project, portfolio, and service management.
• Experience with digital transformation initiatives, preferably within higher education or a similar knowledge-intensive organization.
• Knowledge of digitalization in the education domain is a plus.
• Proven ability to provide strategic direction while enabling teams to perform autonomously.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to navigate crises and engage teams with vision and humor.
