Network Engineer

Basic-Fit’s IT team is looking for an experienced, self-driven, and flexible Network Engineer who ensures a reliable and well-functioning network across our international organization. This Is What Your Role Looks Like

As Network Engineer, you play a key role in safeguarding the continuity and optimal availability of the connectivity for all Basic-Fit club locations and offices. You not only ensure the proper installation and functioning of network equipment, but also actively shape the future of our network infrastructure. With your expertise, you contribute to complex, organization-wide projects and provide guidance to colleagues. In addition, you resolve critical incidents, carry out periodic maintenance, and work with Fortinet SDWAN solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Take the lead in identifying and implementing network improvements
• Optimize, design, and manage a large-scale international network environment
• Install and configure hardware, software, and infrastructure components
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Prepare in-depth technical analyses and documentation
• Act as a trusted partner for Basic-Fit’s suppliers and stakeholders
• Share knowledge and mentor colleagues within the IT team

The Team

Basic-Fit operates in 6 countries and manages over 1,600 clubs. Our infrastructure follows Microsoft best practices. You will be part of the IT Run & Maintain team (14 colleagues) and report directly to the IT Service Manager. Within the team, your broad experience will be a driving force for both operational stability and further development.

Who Are You?

You are an IT professional with extensive experience in large enterprise networks, eager to contribute to Basic-Fit’s ambitious international growth. You combine deep technical expertise with an advisory mindset. With your entrepreneurial and hands-on attitude, you know how to set priorities, deliver results, and guide others.

Additionally, we're looking for someone who has:

• Extensive experience as a Network Engineer in large and complex environments
• HBO-level working and thinking ability (preferably with an ICT degree)
• Strong process-thinking skills, and the ability to implement and improve them in collaboration with partners
• Knowledge of Fortinet SDWAN
• CCNP (Cisco) certification (or higher)
• Proven knowledge and experience with routing, switching, and related protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc.)
• Experience with telephony systems (Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Webex, SIP trunking)
• Solid knowledge of IT security principles
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (German and French are a plus)
