About the team

The Production Support Team plays an important role within the Services, ABS and ISCM Production Line with regards to manufacturing of (sub) units and logistics. Quality control, production planning, technical work preparation, asset management, production engineering and support are the key functions that together make the production support team a success.

About your future job

A distinction is made between the various department’s Local HSE Officer and the HSE Management Central Prevention Officer. The local HSE Officer role is described in the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.

Therefore you are to contribute to the preparation and execution of the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) and advise and consult with the works council or employee-representative regarding working conditions. This takes place in, or after, consultation with the HSE manager. Also you implement Occupational Health & Safety & Environmental Measures.

This role is instrumental in implementing Thales Defence & Security strategy, policy and systems for Health, Safety and Environment.

Main tasks:

• Department’s first point of contact for HSE-related questions and work
• Advise department management regarding HSE-related issues
• Execute prevention duties, such as basic workplace inspection/ergonomics
• Provide Occupational health and environmental information to department employees
• Inspection rounds/audits
• Implement HSE policy within the department
• Monitor RI&E and action plan for the department
• Make proposals to both improve department working conditions and environmental performance and to fulfil requirements and procedures with regard to radiation protection
• Co-ordination of, and advice regarding, Personal Protective Equipment
• Management of Hazardous Substances

Why you'd be a good match

• A bachelor’s degree in a health, safety, or environmental field of study
• 5 years’ experience in health and safety
• HSE Qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
• In depth knowledge of legislation and procedures
• Capable of to manage improvement and change processes
• Good organization skills
• Good analytical skills and the ability to think critically
