HSE Manager – Prysmian The Netherlands
Scope: Delft, Emmen, Nieuw-Bergen, Eindhoven + Projects & Services
Team Size: 8 HSE professionals
Reports to: Directly to Regional HSE Director Europe and matrix to Country Manager NL.

About the Role
As HSE Manager for Prysmian The Netherlands, you are responsible for defining and driving the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) strategy across all Dutch sites, including our plants in Delft, Emmen, Nieuw-Bergen, Eindhoven, and Projects & Services. You ensure alignment with Prysmian global and European HSE vision, operating under the Zero & Beyond umbrella. You act as a change leader who inspires and drives sustainable transformation across all levels of the organization.
Key responsibilities
Strategy & vision: Develop and execute the HSE strategy in line with global and European frameworks, embedding the Zero & Beyond principles.
Cultural development: Strengthen safety culture and influence positive safety behaviour at all levels of the organization.
Compliance & management systems: Maintain and improve compliance with Dutch legislation and group standards. Manage and improve the integrated management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, Safety Ladder, VCA**) and support ISO 9001.
Risk management: Oversee site- and activity-specific risk assessments and promote proactive mitigation strategies.
Advisory role: Serve as advisor to the Country Management Team (MT), Plant MTs, Country Safety Committee, and Country Works Council on all HSE matters.
Leadership & team Management: Lead and coach a team of 8 HSE professionals across the Dutch organization. Drive collaboration, competence development and operational consistency.
Audits & reporting: Ensure accurate HSE reporting, lead internal and external audits, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder engagement: Act as the main point of contact for local authorities, insurers, auditors, and internal stakeholders regarding HSE topics.
Human-centered safety communication: Present safety topics clearly and convincingly. Inspire others by making safety about people—not just statistics. Use storytelling and real-life examples to create impact and awareness.
What we are looking for
Higher education with NEBOSH diploma (Hoger Veiligheidskundige).
Proven leadership experience in HSE management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of Dutch HSE legislation and international standards (ISO 45001, 14001, 50001).
Experience in leading cultural change and coaching on safety behaviours.
Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
