Join Wakuli in Building an Alternative Coffee Industry

About Wakuli

We love great coffee. That’s why we’re building an alternative coffee industry that actually works. For both farmers and consumers.

How? By working directly with farmer groups around the world. We set up transparent, traceable export lines, roast the beans ourselves and sell the coffee straight to customers. So no unnecessary middlemen or resellers. Those short supply chains make sure farmers always get a good price.

You’ll find us in 17 (and counting) bars across the Netherlands, and online through our own platform. For customers, that means freshly roasted specialty coffee that’s easy to access, relatively affordable and just seriously delicious.

We are building the new coffee brand of the 21st century with a team of like-minded innovators from all over the world. And we’re looking for you.

Your role

At Wakuli, we’re not only building an alternative coffee industry. We are also building a brand that lives in culture, music and community. We want to be present where our (future) fans are: at festivals and events across the country, inviting our community in our bars and collaborating with the most exciting and relevant brands and creators. You will be reporting directly to our creative director and work closely with marketing, retail and product teams.

We’re looking for a Community & Partnership Manager to make it happen.

Job requirements

What you’ll do:

  • Build exciting collabs with brands, creators, artists, communities, events or any other entities that we want to work with.
  • Make sure Wakuli shows up where our audience is outside of our own channels: from creative collabs in the city to festivals and cultural events.
  • Lead Wakuli’s festival presence: build relationships with organizers, develop activation concepts and make sure our coffee culture shines on the ground.
  • Own partner relationships from start to finish: from the first pitch to flawless execution, making sure every collab feels smooth and fun.
  • Make working with Wakuli easy and enjoyable, so partners keep coming back.
  • Spot what’s happening in the community and turn it into collabs, events, or partnerships that grow Wakuli’s reach.
  • Track, measure and report on the impact of collabs, events and festivals. And use those learnings to make each one better than the last.

You are:

  • A connector with a strong network and a feel for culture, music and lifestyle.
  • Experienced in community management and/or partnerships (at least 1+ years of experience).
  • Flexible: if you need to be present at a festival on a Saturday, you are there (and then you take off the next Monday).
  • Both strategic and hands-on: you can dream it up and make it happen.
  • Strong in communication, quick to adapt and proactive.
  • Dutch (-speaking). And fluent in English.

What we offer:

  • Free coffee for at home! And when you’re working from a bar. ☕
  • The opportunity to make a real difference in the world.
  • A lot of responsibilities and a steep learning curve.
  • Talented international and impact driven colleagues with a great team spirit.
  • €3000 - €4000 monthly pay (depending on experience / based on full-time (40 hours)).

Wakuli is turning the coffee industry on its head – for the better.
How? By creating the shortest value chain in coffee and leveraging technology to connect. We're reimagining the coffee supply chain by eliminating traditional middlemen and giving coffee farmers their fair share, whilst sourcing the highest quality specialty beans straight from farmer-friends in Africa, Latin-America and Asia. We deliver this coffee freshly roasted to our customers through the my.wakuli platform.
