Your role: Business Controller – Damen Global Support

Damen Global Support BV offers various supporting services to all Damen companies/divisions. Services like Global Marketing, Global Sales, Global IT, HR, Finance, Logistics, Procurement and Group Expertise functions.

As Business Controller within Damen Global Support, you will be a strategic financial partner to the department directors of our global support functions, including CIO, CHRO. You report directly to the Finance Director Ebele Jan van der Laan and play a key role in steering financial performance, optimizing costs, and enabling informed decision-making across the division. In this broad role you bridge finance and business control.

What you’ll do

Analyse and Advise

• Deliver real-time insights into budget utilization, burn rate and cost-efficiency.
• Build financial models to assess feasibility and alignment with business goals.
• Conduct variance analyses and recommend corrective actions.

Plan and Forecast

• Lead the annual budgeting process and develop short- and long-term forecasts.
• Collaborate with departments to create accurate and insightful financial projections.

Control and Report

• Support month-end closing and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Monitor key financial metrics and communicate findings to IT and finance leadership.

Partner and Influence

• Work closely with department heads to understand initiatives and provide financial guidance.
• Help prioritize projects based on financial impact and strategic relevance.
• Influence cost allocation and drive value-for-money across services.

What you bring

We’re looking for professionals who combine analytical strength with business acumen.

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting and cost control
• Strong understanding of Finance and IT operations.
• Proficiency in SAP4 Hana, Power BI, Excel and financial modelling tools and experienced in large data handling.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (flexible in adaptation at different levels)
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
