Introduction

Within ASML, the Development & Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification and the development of ASML products. This assignment is within the department of the cluster Electronic Development (EDEV), responsible for the definition, realization, qualification and integration of electronic functions and modules within these products. In the projection group (high NA), EDEV is responsible for designing and maintaining the electronics within the projection optics box. In order to qualify this critical part of the machine the EDEV team develop electronic printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and test scripts. These PCBAs along with test scripts are run on both the test set-up within a lab environment and on the proto machines.

Your assignment

As an intern in the team, you will use your knowledge of both analog and digital sensors as well as software knowledge in order to industrialize and optimize the digital platform (containing temperature and position sensor simulators). For this assignment, some of your tasks will include:

  • Investigate current architecture & define way forward.
  • Design of hardware simulators. Optimize hardware components & PCBA design (schematic & PCB layout).
  • Test & Verify hardware.
  • Design control software using C++ and Python and verify end-result.
  • Define and code a GUI and user control scheme.
  • Writing a report with the design & results and provide solid conclusions and recommendations.
  • Provide a completed product which can be used throughout ASML.

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are a student in Electrical Engineering.
  • Have some knowledge on circuit design, analog, digital electronics and programming.
  • Are proactive and a team-player.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
