Introduction
The Optomechanics Competence Group focuses on transferring and developing knowledge related to optomechanical design, including processes, concepts, and solutions. This mainly involves mounting methods for lenses, prisms, fibers, and similar optical components.
Mounting non-circular optics—such as prisms, windows, and beamsplitters—is a specific area that lacks systematic coverage. Existing literature often fails to meet the requirements of semiconductor applications due to various limitations.
This internship aims to organize and summarize mounting concepts for non-circular optics used in the semiconductor industry, contributing to the Optomechanics Competence Group’s knowledge base. Where possible, abstracted examples from industry should be added to complement or replace those found in literature.
Your assignment
Knowledgetransfer of optical mounts for non round optics
The goal of this assignment is to collect and organize mounting concepts for non-circular optics from literature, and expand the overview with examples relevant to the semiconductor industry. The result should support graduates and junior engineers in starting their own mount designs.
Deliverables:
This is a master graduation project (thesis) or internship (to gain work experience), with a duration of at least 5 months. The start date is as soon as possible, but flexible.
