Internship – Sustainability (Circularity) at HEINEKEN

Are you a student with a passion for circularity, and wanting to learn how companies can maximize circularity within their operations and beyond?

The internship

The HEINEKEN Global Sustainable Development team is seeking a highly motivated and thoughtful individual that can support in the development of HEINEKEN’s global circularity agenda. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn first-hand how companies embed sustainability – and specifically circularity – into their corporate decision-making.

As a sustainability intern, you will primarily support the Global Circularity Manager, and be responsible for:

  • Lead on writing the circularity section for the annual report liaising with multiple stakeholders within the company
  • Support on capability building around the global circularity strategy
  • Support on projects around reusable packaging, increasing recycled content and recyclability in specific Operating Companies

In addition, there will be opportunities to provide ad hoc support for other members of the Global Sustainability Team based on your personal interests, e.g., topics such as social sustainability.

During your internship you will get the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside your department. We give you the trust and freedom, so you can work like a real entrepreneur. We like to bring the outside world inside and therefore we embrace new, fresh ideas with enthusiasm. Of course, always with the guidance that is right for you.

The department

HEINEKEN’s Brew a Better World 2030 strategy aims to drive a positive impact on the environment, social sustainability and responsible consumption.

The Global Sustainable Development Team oversees the strategic delivery of HEINEKEN’s environmental sustainability goals, including net zero, circularity, healthy watersheds, and ultimately having a positive impact on biodiversity.

The Global Sustainable Development Team sits within the Global Corporate Affairs department based in Amsterdam. You will also get ample opportunity to learn about other aspects of Corporate Affairs including responsible consumption, public affairs and communications.

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 September 2025
  • The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible)
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
  • It is a practice-oriented internship
  • You will be based in Amsterdam
  • Hybrid working
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

The start of your internship

Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Furthermore, you can organize fun activities with your fellow interns.

The unique you!

We believe that everyone has unique talents and are therefore looking for you! We are looking for an individual with a well-rounded skillset, and in particular:
