How do you make our customers happy?

By embedding procurement capabilities that empower almost 3000 colleagues to maximize our value for 13.7 million customers and 47,000 partners. As the Manager of our Procurement Centre of Excellence, you’ll design, implement, and supercharge the strategic hub that transforms how bol defines, executes, and benefits from procurement. Your team will set high standards, accelerate digital innovation, build new capabilities, and demonstrate that procurement can be a competitive differentiator. Through your frameworks, tools, and change initiatives, you’ll enable category managers to negotiate more effectively, operations teams to execute more efficiently, and everyone to view procurement as their favorite strategic business partner.

The biggest challenge

Creating and embedding a Centre of Excellence in an organization that’s still discovering procurement’s full potential. You’ll need to foster commitment while driving change across multiple domains – from digital systems to capability development, governance frameworks, and performance analytics. How do you influence without authority when stakeholders span the entire hierarchical gamut? How do you implement enterprise standards while respecting team autonomy? Success calls for the skills to drive change across a matrix organization where some still view procurement as the “PO department,” so you’ll need to be equal parts visionary architect, pragmatic builder, and diplomatic change agent.

What you'll do as the Manager of the Procurement Centre of Excellence

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you’ll build and lead a new function that serves as procurement’s strategic enabler. With a compact but mighty team of two specialists – focusing on Digital & Data and Excellence & Transformation – you’ll elevate procurement capabilities across the organization. You’ll drive the Procurement future strategy and vision and create a plan to deliver towards that future state. You are responsible for the Procurement policies and procedures, and focus on the entire Source-to-Pay process design, continuously optimizing its efficiency, compliance, and user experience. But your impact extends far beyond process maps. You’ll also craft the digital procurement strategy, championing tools and platforms that turn laborious manual tasks into automated excellence. Through your governance frameworks and policies, you’ll ensure that procurement becomes vastly more efficient while remaining compliant.

As the domain’s leading capability builder, you’ll design inspiring learning programs, define clear career pathways, and foster a culture where continuous improvement is the norm, not the exception. Your performance dashboards won’t just track savings – they’ll demonstrate procurement’s strategic value across innovation, sustainability, and risk mitigation, embedding ways of working that stick long after the workshops have ended. Your key responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead the Procurement Centre of Excellence as a new strategic function
  • Define and implement procurement standards, governance frameworks, and best practices
  • Optimize end-to-end Source-to-Pay processes across the enterprise
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and drive adoption of procurement tech
  • Design and deliver capability development programs and career frameworks
  • Develop KPIs and analytics that showcase procurement's strategic value
  • Own and optimize Procurement data and insights
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across all procurement activities
  • Act as an internal consultant and change agent, influencing without formal authority

Why you can make a difference

You combine 10+ years of procurement experience with proven consulting and transformation leadership capabilities. Your track record demonstrates that you can effectively prioritize and plan complex initiatives that incorporate best practices and enhance procurement towards best practice. You bring deep expertise in procurement excellence and process ownership, coupled with a natural flair for governance and compliance that doesn’t feel dogmatic. You’re as comfortable designing digital enablement strategies as developing talent frameworks, building performance analytics, or facilitating change workshops. Your influencing skills are impressive – you can align diverse stakeholders from category leads to legal teams around shared standards without wielding hierarchical power. Most importantly, you believe that procurement excellence isn’t about perfecting processes but enabling business success.

  • - Status quo guardian Your ideal Centre of Excellence would document existing processes in triplicate and change nothing
  • - Ivory tower intellectual You prefer designing theoretical frameworks to getting your hands dirty with implementation
  • - Command controller If you can't mandate compliance through hierarchical authority, you're not interested in leading
  • + Procurement expert You thrive on building Procurement from scratch, and are adept at creating structures and capabilities that will outlast your tenure
  • + Influence multiplier You drive change through expertise and inspiration, making others eager to adopt best practices instead of feeling coerced
  • + Strategic pragmatist You combine visionary thinking with practical execution, knowing when to push boundaries and when to respect realities

Where you'll work

You’ll join our Procurement function at an inflection point – as we transform from offering transactional support to being a strategic business partner. Building the Centre of Excellence from the ground up, you’ll collaborate with category managers, operations specialists, and stakeholders across Finance, IT, Legal, and business teams who are ready for procurement to level up. The environment rewards both strategic thinking and pragmatic action – we need innovative frameworks that work as advertised. With procurement touching every corner of our business, you will impact how 2,900 colleagues create value for millions. Ready to make procurement truly indispensable? Show us your blueprint for building procurement’s future!

Note: We’re heading into the summer holiday period, so our interview process will begin mid-August. Applications are open and we’re keeping an eye out, but responses may take a little longer than usual.
