Dev Ops Engineer - Data Engineering & Analysis

You and your role

Leveraging your passion for data in supporting Rabobank’s data driven ambitions. To support all business initiatives with a need for data, Rabobank is implementing a Global Data & Analytics Platforms in the cloud. One of the characteristics is the vision of ensure a frictionless onboarding & support experience for platform users. Our Platform is built on Azure Cloud, and the teams are growing fast. We strive towards high performing and self-managing DevOps teams, where team members take responsibility and are willing to learn. We are currently looking for a DevOps Fullstack Engineer to strengthen one of our teams from area Onboarding and Support. The team is specialized in onboarding users to our Global Data & Analytics Platforms. This squad is part of the tribe Global Data & Analytics Platforms. Within this tribe you will work in the centre of the data driven enterprise. The tribe contains 4 areas:

• Onboarding & Support
• Governance Platform
• Data Platform
• Analytics Platform

As we are still at the beginning of our GDAP onboarding journey, you have the opportunity to help shape our vision of making the onboarding process to the GDAP platform as seamless and self-service as possible. GDAP currently offers multiple platforms, each with their own onboarding process / forms. To make this journey for our users more integrated and self-service, we are building a GDAP Portal. You will be the engineer that is working on this portal; you’ll be extending the Spotify backstage technology by writing plugins that either extend the functionality of backstage (offering user workflows, visualising platform health, etc.) or by integrating with other systems such as our platform orchestrator or data governance tooling.

As an DevOps Full Stack Engineer you make a difference by:

• Understanding the goals and needs of the business as no other. You can understand the question behind the question, you embrace the problem and translate that into (data) requirements.
• Translating the business requirements into technical solutions. You understand the concepts and solutions forming the GDAP and can make the onboarding journey easy and self-service to the max.
• Being the (wo)man in the middle between our tenants (data providers, data producers and data consumers) and the various DevOps-teams of the GDAP. You are able to connect and communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
• Promoting the GDAP in the organization.

You and your Talent

• 2 years experience as a Full Stack Engineer.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good UX skills: you build to impress.
• Experience in integration patterns; working extensively with API’s to connect systems.
• Experience in front-end languages such as React, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience in back-end programming languages such as Python or C#.
• Experience in designing & building high-performing API’s.
• You understand the concepts and challenges of cloud / platform engineering.
• Our users work on D&A solutions; it helps to understand their needs.
• Hands-on experience with developing Backstage plugins
• Hands-on experience with automated software testing.
• Experience with the concepts behind GitOps or DataOps.
• Experience with the Data-as-a-Product (or other workload) specification.
• Experience with platform orchestration.
• Experience in Azure DevOps.
• Experience with large scale organisations.
• Experience working with development teams as stakeholders.
