Your job

As a Azure Infra Engineer for the Mendix Platform, you will ensure the optimal performance of our Mendix platform. Working closely with your DevOps team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Mendix platform and its underlying cloud infrastructure. You will engage with a broad spectrum of technologies and play a key role in driving growth and innovation within our IT landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, monitor, and enhance the Mendix platform using tools such as Alerts, Containers Insights, and Application Insights.
  • Develop and manage cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure, including Kubernetes, Virtual Machines, and Networking (VNET peering, Gateways, WAF).
  • Implement DevOps principles and automate processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Optimize application security with tools like Keyvaults, Application Gateways, and WAF.
  • Manage databases (SQL Server) and storage accounts.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze technical challenges to ensure stability and scalability.

Working environment

You will work for the Development Automation department. Within Development Automation, we aim to deliver (low-code) application platforms in a low-ops fashion. By absorbing as much of the complexity, involved with running a platform on a platform, we achieve economy of skills and enable our platform user to fully focus on delivering applications and business value.

By delivering reusable services, component, starter apps and (CICD) tools we help IT delivery teams accelerate their delivery while keeping the underlying platform stable, secure and available. In short, you will be working in a dynamic and international environment that is constantly evolving and building future-proof solutions. When working from home is no longer the standard, we are working in an office in Amstelveen, close to Amsterdam. Within the team and organization we mainly speak English.

Your profile

We are looking for a proactive team player with a keen eye for detail who can thrive in a DevOps environment. You stay informed on the latest technological advancements and are eager to contribute to our dynamic team. Openness, transparency, quality and ownership are key values.

Must-haves:

  • Experience with monitoring and DevOps tools (e.g., Alerts, Application Insights, Containers Insights).
  • Knowledge of Compute (Kubernetes, Virtual Machines) and Networking (VNET peering, Gateways, WAF).
  • Experience with Azure Entra (formerly Azure AD).
  • Proficiency in managing databases (SQL Server) and storage accounts.
  • Understanding of security solutions (Keyvaults, WAF).
  • Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms like Azure.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Proficiency in English.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Nginx.
  • Knowledge of Calico and Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with Data Bricks and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
