Internship Risk Oversight, Control & Regulations

Are you a motivated student eager to learn how Corporate Banking defines risk appetite and assesses acceptable risk levels to meet objectives? Do you want to contribute to strategic risk assessment projects and be part of the CB team responsible for setting up, executing, and monitoring first-line risk management and control measures?

Then start as intern Risk Oversight, Control & Regulations (ROCR) and support our team. You will not only contribute to improve our Risk Appetite and Strategic Risk Assessment processes, you will also learn and develop yourself in an international team of 15 Non-Financial Risk managers with different backgrounds and experiences.

Your job

As a ROCR Intern, you will be an integral part of the Corporate Banking team and will be involved in various projects. This includes developing CB uniform Risk Appetite documentation and coordinating the communication with internal stakeholders, including subsidiaries and countries. Other tasks:

  • Facilitate the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) 2026 planning and alignment with 1st and 2nd LoD stakeholders by actively communicating milestones and proposed changes.
  • Act as gatekeeper for CB RAS 2026 central repository documentation, including RAS, Rationale Document, and cover memo for Risk Committees.
  • Represent CB P&C SPOCS in RAS 2026 meetings, coordinating changes with subsidiaries and countries.
  • Prepare RAS 2026 documentation for approval in MT CB, CB Risk Committee, and Group Risk Committee.
  • Facilitate awareness across commercial units regarding changes in CB RAS 2026.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure all required risk assessments (RSA, SRA, SIRA, etc.) are performed.

Your working environment

Be an integral part of the team, comprised of 15 Non-Financial Risk managers with different backgrounds and experiences. working on diverse projects. You'll coordinate communication with internal stakeholders and contribute to the development of uniform Risk Appetite documentation. Gain experience in an international and dynamic setting, enhancing your skills and knowledge in risk management.

Your profile

Your Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Dutch (HBO or WO) university, studying economics, finance, or a related field for the internship duration.
  • You have experience with and knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Available at least 4 days a week and able to come to the office in Amsterdam at least two times a week.
  • Seeking a six-month internship starting in September 2025.

Please note that this internship is focused on providing practical work experience and does not support a thesis or final research project.
