As an intern, you are part of the Supply Chain Planning department and responsible for conducting research on potential improvements to the IT tools used within the department. This role provides an excellent opportunity to analyze existing processes and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.

Your main goals will include:

• Conduct an analysis of current ERP processes and systems
• Work closely with Supply Chain Planners to understand their workflows and identify inefficiencies
• Define requirements for IT tool to optimize production planning
• Perform market research to explore available IT tool solutions that fit to the departments’ processes
• Propose recommendations for IT tool solutions that enhance operational efficiency
• Summarize findings, recommendations and implementation plan in a thesis and present to SMCP Management Team
• If possible, coordinate the implementation of proposed solution

We are looking for an enthusiastic WO student who is pursuing a degree in fields such as Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Informatica, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. We seek someone who is eager to learn, capable of applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations, and excited about contributing to innovative IT solutions within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Afdeling

The Supply Chain Planning department in the Sheet Metal Components Plant (SMCP) is part of the Operations division of DAF Trucks NV in Eindhoven. The Supply Chain Planning department is responsible for managing the daily operations within the factory through a production planning. This involves coordinating the flow of materials, scheduling production runs, and ensuring that all resources are utilized efficiently to meet customer demands at minimal integral costs.

The Supply Chain Planning team consists of approximately 10 colleagues who work collaboratively to optimize production processes. Each team member plays a crucial role in analyzing data, forecasting needs, and adjusting plans as necessary to adapt to changing circumstances. The Supply Chain Planning team does so by setting and adjusting parameter settings in the ERP system. The goal of our department is to enhance overall operational efficiency while minimizing costs and lead times and meeting internal customer demands.
