Join the Financial Controlling Team at MediaMarkt Benelux

About the Role

MediaMarkt Benelux’s Controlling department is made up of four teams: Financial Controlling, Commercial Controlling, Operational Controlling, and Procurement Controlling. The Financial Controlling team serves as the main point of contact for all P&L-related questions, providing insights into the financial performance of the Benelux region and managing the planning and control cycle.

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead this team of professionals. As Team Lead Financial Controlling, you will ensure clear insight into the financial performance and position of MediaMarkt Benelux. You will monitor and analyze both short- and long-term developments regarding the organization’s position and objectives.

Your Responsibilities

• Participate in the month-end close cycle by analyzing and reporting on monthly results
• Ensure a strong administrative organization and internal control around daily, weekly, and monthly processes within the department
• Manage the monthly forecast process, addressing any financial changes that affect current and future results
• Comply with various reports from the head office in Germany
• Analyze results and discuss findings with the Head of Controlling and senior leadership
• Participate in ad-hoc and process optimization projects

Your Profile

• Analytically excellent professional with a strong sense of ownership
• Comfortable working with large models and data sets; proficient in Excel
• Background in retail, wholesale, or logistics is a plus
• Strong vision in your field, open to new ideas and insights
• Advisory stakeholder manager, able to handle deadlines and a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable in a large, dynamic organization
• Accurate, entrepreneurial, and excellent command of English (verbal and written)

• Completed master’s or bachelor’s degree
• At least 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• RC, RA, CMA, CIMA, CFA accreditations are welcome
• Demonstrated talent and ambition in your career
• Self-starter, organizationally strong, and a top analyst
• Mature interlocutor at all organizational levels
