As R&D Process Engineer you’ll join our process development team to design, refine, and optimize fabrication processes for our flexible RF connecting solutions. By translating customer wishes into innovative, high‑quality products that integrate cutting‑edge design and capabilities with a robust, manufacturable flow, you’ll ensure every unique solution meets real‑world demands. Your hands‑on expertise and creative problem‑solving will keep production agile, reliable, and ahead of the curve.

At Delft Circuits, we’re pushing the boundaries of cryogenic electronics with our flagship Cri/oFlex® platform—the world’s first fully integrated cryogenic I/O solution for quantum computing. Based in Delft, Netherlands, our diverse team of engineers, physicists, and innovators combines deep technical expertise with an open, collaborative culture —where ideas are shared, challenges are tackled head-on, and impact is real.

From hands-on lab work to supporting our customers scale their quantum computers, at Delft Circuits, your work truly matters.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Hands‑On Fabrication & Testing:
Implement advanced fabrication techniques—thin‑film deposition, photolithography, etching, and patterning—and apply diagnostics such as resistance measurements and microscopy

  • Process Flow Design:
Develop, validate, and enhance end‑to‑end fabrication sequences, integrating new capabilities

  • Research Collaboration:
Ensure novel ideas are feasible and smoothly embedded into existing workflows

  • Creative Problem Solving:
Apply fresh, unconventional approaches to overcome process challenges

  • Project Management:
Navigate complex, multi‑team environments—coordinate between process and product development, systems engineering, and quality control; negotiate priorities and drive projects forward

  • Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain clear records of process changes, test results, and development milestones

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or equivalent experience
  • Proven, hands‑on background in high‑tech fabrication or manufacturing (3+ years)
  • Strong analytical mindset and practical fabrication skills
  • Excellent communication and cross‑team coordination abilities

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in cleanroom‑style environments or dust‑controlled labs
  • Familiarity with chemical PCB or Semicon processes
  • Formal training in Six Sigma/Lean or Design of Experiments
  • Prior work with flexible substrates or cryogenic materials
