Your aim as a Legal Counsel is to lead and support Bugaboo’s compliance program with a strong focus on business integrity, privacy compliance and corporate governance. You will provide legal guidance to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, helping to embed a culture of ethical conduct and protect the organization’s reputation and business interests in line with Bugaboo’s internal standards.

You are part of the Legal team and report to the Head of Legal.

What will you do

As a Legal Counsel at Bugaboo, you won’t just keep us aligned with regulations, you’ll empower the business to move faster, smarter, and with confidence. This is a high-impact role where your legal expertise will be a business enabler, supporting Bugaboo’s global growth with integrity and forward-thinking.

Here are your key responsibilities:

• Regulatory compliance & risk management: You’ll monitor regulatory changes impacting our company and operations and lead proactive risk assessments, continuously optimize internal policies and controls, and conduct compliance reviews to minimize legal risks.
• Privacy compliance: You’ll ensure our data processing practices align with global privacy laws and frameworks, lead privacy impact assessments, and partner with teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into our operations with a pragmatic and risk-based approach.
• Corporate governance: You’ll maintain corporate records and support regulatory filings, ensuring we uphold the highest standards of corporate governance.
• Legal advisory: You’ll support our operational teams with practical, risk-based legal advice and help leadership make decisions that align with both our growth and compliance ambitions.
• Compliance program: You’ll design, implement, and continuously improve our company compliance programs (e.g., anti-competition, anti-bribery, sanctions, AML, etc.), ensuring they reflect evolving regulatory requirements, industry best practices and the company’s risk appetite. You’ll coordinate cross-functional efforts to uphold ethical standards, monitor program effectiveness, and drive accountability across the organization.
• Training & awareness: You’ll deliver engaging training and lead awareness campaigns that embed a culture of compliance across the company, making sure every team feels empowered to do the right thing.

What you will bring to the table:

• Master of Laws (LLM), preferably in Dutch Civil Law.
• 3–5 years of legal experience, with a focus on compliance, privacy, and corporate law.
• Proven experience as in-house counsel or lawyer in an international corporate environment.
• Strong ability to manage legal risks and support corporate and compliance frameworks.
• Agile and adaptable, with a proactive approach to shifting priorities and emerging risks.
• Open-minded and collaborative, with a passion for working across diverse teams.
• Solution-oriented, enabling business goals while ensuring legal and compliance integrity.
• Skilled at translating complex legal concepts into clear, practical advice for stakeholders.
